Attracting Top Talent with an Employee Value Proposition

Demand for talent is at an all time high. Therefore, it’s important for the hiring organisation to differentiate themselves from the many other career opportunities by having a clearly defined Employee Value Proposition (EVP) to use during the recruitment process. 

As well as challenging and financially rewarding career, top talent will be attracted to companies that have values that align with their own and a culture that they wish to be a part of. This can be achieved by creating and communicating an EVP.

An EVP will:

• Provide the story of the organisation, your positioning in the market, employee benefits including well-being, remote working and rewards, career development and support, company culture, and what makes your company unique.

• Establish a genuine set of values, positioning the company in the market exactly how the organisation wants to be recognised by clients, candidates and colleagues.

When attracting new hires, the hiring strategy and interview process should:

• Clearly communicate the EVP and use it as a Unique Selling Point (USP)
• Encourage the interviewee to ask questions 
• Identify hires matching the organisations EVP
• Position the role and organisation as the best option for the interviewee
• Create a digital presence for candidates to research
